Travel Resources

Here are some of our favorite tools for finding flights and hotels. All of our favorite travel resources in one area.

Booking Flights

Skyscanner: We use skyscanner everytime we search for flights, because it has so many great features. We love that we can search “everywhere” in the destination box, to find the cheapest flight from our origin. Or if you don’t have a specific date in mind, you can put in flexible dates and it will find the cheapest time to travel.

Google flights: Google flights is super easy to search flights, and has a great interface to search. Once you enter your origin and destination, you can see a calendar view of the historical prices, plus it will give you tips on finding cheaper flights, such as leaving a day earlier.

Kayak: Kayak has a great explore page for searching cheaper destinations. What we love about Kayak is that you can sign up for an account and they will send you updates when the prices have dropped.

Booking Other Accommodation

Airbnb: We love staying in Airbnb’s when we travel because we love the use of a kitchen and laundry. We also love that the owners are locals so they can give us tips that we wouldn’t normally get at a hotel

Hipcamp: hipcamp is like airbnb for camping. Pick your location and find a unique camp spot

Transportation

JR Pass: If you’re planning on traveling around Japan, you’ll want to get the Japan Rail Pass. It makes it super easy and convenient to explore in Japan.

Uber: A ride share app that is widely available, no matter the time of day. Uber is way less than a taxi and you’ll know the price before you book.

Miscellanous Travel

Viator: Book tours and activites with viator

Travel Gear

Neatpack bag: One of the best bags we own for traveling, its small but has lots of pockets.

Use “FIT10OFF” for 10% off

REI: We absolutely love REI for all their camping, hiking and outdoor equipment!

Ebags packing cubes: These cubes are lifesavers to pack lots of stuff and to stay organized.

Knack Bags: We both each have a knack bag, and they are great for carry-on bags that can fit a lot into it!

Electronics

Powerbank: As travel bloggers, we use our phones and electronics a lot. We love this Anker powerbank and take it with us everywhere we go, so we’re never without a charge.

Camera: We love our Sony A6000 camera, its lightweight but takes amazing photos.

Tripod: This tripod is great for traveling, as its lightweight and flexible.
