We’ve put together this comprehensive list of travel resources. From packing essentials to finding cheap flights to the best travel credit cards, this is a great checklist to reference before heading out on your next travels.
These are the same resources we personally use for our travels!
Our Favorite Travel Tools
Going.com: Sign up for email notifications from your favorite airlines when there are great flight deals. No more searching a million different options, when you can have them sent straight to your email! This is how we found flights from LAX to Fiji for $600 roundtrip!
Dollar Flight Club: Sign up for free email notifications on cheap flights near you! It’s save you time from having to search for all the good deals!
Booking Flights
Skyscanner: We use skyscanner everytime we search for flights, because it has so many great features. We love that we can search “everywhere” in the destination box, to find the cheapest flight from our origin. Or if you don’t have a specific date in mind, you can put in flexible dates and it will find the cheapest time to travel.
Google flights: Google flights is super easy to search flights, and has a great interface to search. Once you enter your origin and destination, you can see a calendar view of the historical prices, plus it will give you tips on finding cheaper flights, such as leaving a day earlier.
Kayak: Kayak has a great explore page for searching cheaper destinations. What we love about Kayak is that you can sign up for an account and they will send you updates when the prices have dropped.
Our favorite sites for booking cheap flights
Booking Hotels
Booking.com: An easy to use site for searching for hotels, you can narrow down the options and read reviews on the site.
Hotels.com: Great to compare different hotels that you are looking at in one destination

Booking Other Accommodation
Airbnb: We love staying in Airbnb’s when we travel because we love the use of a kitchen and laundry. We also love that the owners are locals so they can give us tips that we wouldn’t normally get at a hotel
Hipcamp: hipcamp is like airbnb for camping. Pick your location and find a unique camp spot

Transportation
JR Pass: If you’re planning on traveling around Japan, you’ll want to get the Japan Rail Pass. It makes it super easy and convenient to explore in Japan.
Uber: A ride share app that is widely available, no matter the time of day. Uber is way less than a taxi and you’ll know the price before you book.
Our Favorite Luggage
Knack Bag: These are our favorite carry-on bags. We have the duffel bag and series 2 medium backpack. There is plenty of space for everything you need in a carry on, plus fits great under the seats.
Ifly luggage: We are now on our 2nd set of Ifly luggage (the first set lasted 10 years!), and this set is even better than the first! The luggage is super durable, but it also has a 10 year warranty!
Booking Travel Tours
Get your guide: If you’re looking for some tours while you travel, search get your guide to find the best things to do in your destination
Viator: Book tours and activites in your next destinations easily with Viator. You can find nearly everything on Viator, whether half day tours or multi-day excursions, it’s a great place to plan out your travels.
Camping and Road Trips
Harvest Hosts: If you have a camper van or RV, instead of paying for a campsite each night, pay for the year on harvest hosts, and stay at unique places like a winery, golf course, brewery, alpaca farm and more!
Roadtrippers: Plan your roadtrip and find different campsites along the way with Roadtrippers
Outdoorsy: Are you looking to rent a RV or camper van? Outdoorsy is like airbnb but for the outdoor world. Search for any filters you want and find the dates you need to book your next RV.
